Analytical Text

 

1.       Definition

Analytical text is a type of text that is included in argumentation text, because its content is in the form of arguments about an object, phenomenon, place or event.

2.       Purpose

Trying to convince the reader that the topic presented is an important topic to discuss or get attention by providing arguments or opinions that support the main idea or topic

3.       Function

a)       to convince readers or listeners that the theme raised is interesting

b)      to tell and convince the reader that the issues raised are important

4.       Text Structure

a. Thesis

In the first paragraph of this text, the writer must tell the main topic of his writing, so that the reader can find out the author's background on the topic of discussion.

b. Arguments

The author writes down his arguments or opinions to support the main topic. In the analytical exposition, we can find more than two arguments. The number of arguments presented will make the reader believe that the topic is an important topic.

c. Reiteration/Conclusion

This final part is also the closing or conclusion of the text. The contents are in the form of a reaffirmation of the author's opinion regarding the main topic discussed.
